The true blending of Merriam Vineyards wines begins with the grapes, where distinct varietals are carefully selected and planted to capture the best of Sonoma County’s diverse terroir. Our two vineyard sites, each with their own unique soil composition and geography, allow us to plant particular vines on land that best allows them the opportunity to produce exceptional fruit. Merriam Vineyards are committed to vineyard designated wines and thus/subsequently produce roughly eighty five percent of our own estate fruit on site. Those additional grapes, while farmed elsewhere in the county, come from accomplished local growers who share the same vision and commitment to honoring the relationship between vine and terroir.
2014 Chardonnay, Bacigalupi Vineyard - Bright straw in color. Tropical nose of papaya, orange honeysuckle, butterscotch and spice. Silky texture with hints of stone fruit, honey and melon. A soft finish with graceful acidity. Gold Medal – Sonoma County Harvest Fair
