2003 Block 21 Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Windacre Vineyard

One of the oldest vineyards in Sonoma County, Windacre vineyard rests on the northeastern edge of the Russian River Valley, in the warmest corner of the appellation. This unique geography results in varied soil composition, which translates into complexity in the Merriam Vineyard estate wines. Windacre Vineyard is perfectly suited to grow exquisite Merlot and other Bordeaux grape varieties, with a climate strikingly similar to the Bordeaux region in France.

Tasting Notes

A delicious balance of earth and fruit, this wine is marked by aromas of leather and cherry cola that give way to flavors of violets and blueberry on the palate. A velvety mouthfeel with soft tannins and a lingering finish, this wine is a perfect pairing with lighter meat dishes such as lamb or duck.
